    The Club of Rome

While not much is heard from this group these days, the Club of Rome was one of the earliest promoters (to this author's memory) of the concept of sustainable development.

Founded in 1968, the Club of Rome is best known for its report “The Limits to Growth,” which emphasized the need for sustainable development due to concerns over overpopulation, environmental deterioration, and economic instability. The publication attempted to address
these perceived burgeoning crises by proposing a 10-region bloc of nations that would work cooperatively to address these issues. This proposal is also known as the 10-kingdoms map.

On 14 March 2019, the Club of Rome lent their official support to environmental activist Greta Thunberg and the "School Strikes for Climate," urging governments across the world to take actions to reduce global carbon emissions..

    The European Union

The European Union (EU) was established in 1993 with the signing of the Maastricht Treaty. Its goal was to facilitate political peace and resolve the tensions arising from World War II by deepening ties between European nations. The Treaty of Rome in 1957 furthered integration by establishing the European Economic Community (EEC). The EU grew significantly in the early 21st century to include many countries that were previously socialist states. The UK voted to withdraw from the EU in 2016, officially leaving in 2020. in what's known today as Brexit.

The Bible teaches that the Antichrist will arise out of a revived Roman Empire. (Daniel 9:26) Many Bible scholars believe that the EU is that revived Roman Empire. Recently, the EU called for a new world leader:

"The free world needs a new leader’, EU foreign chief warns after explosive row between Trump and Zelensky"
